But I&#8217;m very happy to say that there are now several active and well-established civic blogs:<\/p>\n<p>Cindy Gibson&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.citizenpost.blogspot.com\/\">CitizenPost<\/a> consists of provocative mini-essays (with apt illustrations).<\/p>\n<p>The Study Circles Resource Center has <a href=\"http:\/\/democracyspace.typepad.com\/\">Democracy Space<\/a>, with regular news and analysis.<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Democracy and Citizenship at the University of Minnesota has unveiled its new <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.lib.umn.edu\/cdc\/bythepeople\/\">By the People<\/a> blog, mostly devoted to the Center&#8217;s own civic activity.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Weiksner&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/weiksner.com\/\">Connected Conversations<\/a> bridges technology, deliberation, and civic engagement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.deliberative-democracy.net\/blog\/\">The Democracy Movement<\/a> is a group blog devoted to public deliberation and related topics, with good mini-essays.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/smartcommunities.typepad.com\/suzanne\/\">Smart Communities<\/a> is Suzanne Morse&#8217;s very substantive blog, based mainly on her important projects that get citizens involved in addressing crucial issues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/richardharwood.org\/\">Redeeming Hope<\/a> presents Rich Harwood&#8217;s thoughtful reflections on current issues from a civic perspective.<\/p>\n<p>And coming soon: the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mobilize.org\">Mobilize.org<\/a> blog.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(In Cambridge) I&#8217;ve been blogging since early in &#8217;03, and I didn&#8217;t used to have much company in the civic field.
