Although<\/p>\n<p>I am now involved with several other institutions, this is the one I care<\/p>\n<p>most about. We had a regular staff meeting this morning. The Institute<\/p>\n<p>has just produced a book entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0742514684\/ref=ed_oe_p\/102-5832065-2180128?v=glance&#038;s=books&#038;st=*\">War<\/p>\n<p>After September 11<\/a>. It&#8217;s a good small volume of essays, and it appeared<\/p>\n<p>in bookstores just six months after we conceived the idea. Today we discussed<\/p>\n<p>creating a whole series of such &quot;fastbacks&quot; on the philosophical<\/p>\n<p>dimensions of current issues. The next volume, we agreed, will concern<\/p>\n<p>biotechnology.<\/p>\n<p>I had a conversation and did some emailing today on the whole idea of<\/p>\n<p>using mapping software to diagram the field of deliberative democracy<\/p>\n<p>I now have a clearer idea how<\/p>\n<p>this could be done, technically. I also agreed to go to Connecticut in<\/p>\n<p>April for a conference on deliberation sponsored by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.svhe.org\/\">Democracy<\/p>\n<p>Project<\/a> of the Center for Values in Higher Education.
