Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University since 2019.\u00a0This year\u2019s special theme is \u201cViolence, Nonviolence, and Robust Democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dates for this summer\u2019s conference are June 13 (5:30 pm) until June 15 (12:30 pm). Please&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/frontiers-of-democracy-conference-2024-tickets-791162236547?aff=oddtdtcreator\">register and purchase tickets<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We anticipate conversations (and disagreements) about what defines and causes political&nbsp;violence and about the potential and limitations of nonviolent strategies. The nonviolence theme is not exclusive, and there will also be sessions on other topics related to Tisch College\u2019s \u201cNorth Star\u201d: building robust, inclusive democracy for an increasingly multiracial&nbsp;society. In particular, we will continue last year\u2019s rich conversations about&nbsp;<em>religious pluralism<\/em>&nbsp;and democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On this year\u2019s agenda so far:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A plenary panel on \u201cViolence, Nonviolence, and Robust Democracy\u201d\u00a0with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kettering.org\/staff\/damien-conners-senior-program-officer-for-defending-inclusive-democracy\/\">Damien Conners<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faithinpubliclife.org\/profiles\/heather-cronk\/\">Heather Cronk<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/religiousstudies.as.virginia.edu\/jalane-schmidt\">Jalene Schmidt<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/horizonsproject.us\/team\/maria-j-stephan\/\">Maria Stephan<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.risd.edu\/academics\/history-philosophy-and-social-sciences\/faculty\/thupten-tendhar\">Thupten Tendhar<\/a>, moderated by <a href=\"https:\/\/peterlevine.ws\/\">Peter Levine<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sixteen concurrent sessions and three plenary sessions: all interactive and on diverse topics related to democracy and civic life. This includes&nbsp;<em>hors d&#8217;oeuvres<\/em>&nbsp;on June 13, breakfast and lunch on June 14, and breakfast and lunch on June 15.
