More details <a href=\"http:\/\/peterlevine.ws\/images\/NEPES_2018_CFP_Final_Version.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The theme is the &#8220;Self in Relation:\u00a0Ways of Knowing, Naming, and Acting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>NEPES seeks papers that respond to the theme as it speaks to\u00a0specific or broad interpretations. Alternatively, you are welcome to submit any work that deepens our studies of philosophy and\u00a0education. Finally, an unusual component of [Sheri] Leafgren&#8217;s work is\u00a0that it engages with philosophical questions qualitatively and\u00a0draws on philosophy to make sense of the author&#8217;s own\u00a0experience as a teacher in a school. With this in mind, we\u00a0welcome proposals that play with the intersections between\u00a0philosophy and practice as well as papers that explore philosophy\u00a0and education from a range of sub-disciplines.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The keynote is by my friend Larry Blum, author of<em> &#8220;I&#8217;m Not a Racist, But &#8230;&#8221;: The Moral Quandary of Race<\/em> (Cornell UP),\u00a0<em>High Schools, Race, and America&#8217;s Future<\/em> (Harvard Education Press, 2012), and many other works.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New England Philosophy of Education Society will meet at Tufts on Oct. 20, co-sponsored by Tisch College.
