{"id":16982,"date":"2016-06-02T11:19:10","date_gmt":"2016-06-02T15:19:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/peterlevine.ws\/?p=16982"},"modified":"2016-06-02T13:53:18","modified_gmt":"2016-06-02T17:53:18","slug":"job-openings-in-civic-renewal-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peterlevine.ws\/?p=16982","title":{"rendered":"job openings in civic renewal (11)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the eleventh in an occasional series.<\/p>\n<p>Ford Foundation:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The overall goal of Ford\u2019s Civic Engagement and Government (CEG) thematic area is to make civic engagement more powerful and strategic, and government more representative, responsive and accountable.<\/p>\n<p>We seek one <strong>CEG Program Officer (United States)<\/strong> to inform work on expanding participation\u2014promoting increased and greater representation in elections and agendas which reflect the public interest&#8211; particularly to develop a body of work focused on promoting voting rights and other aspects of non-partisan democratic practice in the US\u2014registering voters, increased participation\/debate in primaries, connecting voting to issues people care about&#8211; and contributing to efforts on to reduce the undue influence of money in politics; and develop\/test\/demonstrate models of powerful civic engagement with governments in the US.<\/p>\n<p>We seek a second <strong>CEG Program Officer (Global) <\/strong>to inform work on encouraging development of more progressive tax and budget systems; advancing fairer frameworks\/specific proposals for reducing global tax avoidance; and building legitimacy of civil society in communities globally and testing models of powerful civic engagement with government.\u00a0 The Global CEG Program Officer will also help link the CEG work of Ford\u2019s eleven offices globally and engage in relevant global platforms in a manner which draws in voices and perspectives from the Global South.
